One of the biggest advantages of becoming an assertive person is that you get what you want.  I am sure you know the feeling of getting what you want.

Perhaps you desired to have a boyfriend and you ended up getting one. Perhaps you needed publicity for your work so you got a writer to feature you in the local newspaper.
Or maybe you wanted to improve your cardiac health and you were able to do so because you learned to relax your body so your blood flow returned to normal.

Getting what you want is a wonderful feeling and one you need to experience often.  To help you get more of what you want, you need to learn to ask for exactly what you want.  No one knows that you want or need something if you do not tell them.  Asking for what you want is an effective assertive behavior.

Partners don’t know you want more closeness if you don’t express your desire.  The universal energy does not know you want more money unless you ask for more money.  You need to take the risk and ask for exactly what you want.
