Do you know what you need and want?

So many people tell me that they do not know what they want and need. They just don’t know or they are not sure and secure in their knowing. Knowing exactly what you want and need is the first step in getting what you want and need. Otherwise, you do not have a chance!

In order to know what you want and need, you must listen to the correct answer. Listening to your ego and brain does not “grow corn.” Your ego leads you to more control, anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. On the other hand, listening to your heart and body grows sweet, delicious corn. You are happy and satisfied when you follow your heart. Spring is the time to plant the correct seeds so you have a good harvest in the fall.

This means you must learn how to bypass your brain and listen to your heart, emotional self, and body. A simple question like, “What do I really want to eat for dinner?” can make the difference between being grumpy and feeling happy. Getting the correct answer can make the difference between successful, permanent weight-loss and failure.

If you already know what you need and want, make a list now before reading any further. Your list can range from food for dinner, to your dream vacation, a new job, or healthy relationships. After you write down your desires and needs, examine each one to make sure the source is from your heart.

When you listen to your heart and body you have the potential to experience pleasure and health. Your body wants to be healthy and your emotional self wants to be happy. They rejoice and respond when you give them what they need and want. Weight-loss and success become easier and more fun.

How do you get the correct heart-felt answer?

1. You stop thinking.
2. Take three deep breaths.
3. Ask your question.
4. Listen.
3. Honor the answer.

If you listen deeply and allow the answer to come to you instead of deducting it, it is from your heart. For example, ask your body what it wants to eat. Listen and receive the answer. The answer may come in words, sensations, and colors.

Ask your emotional self, the little girl or little boy inside of you, what would taste yummy. The answer may come in feelings, knowings, words, or images. Be quiet, receive, and honor the answer or answers.

If you do not hear and receive answers, this means your critical, judgmental self is stopping you from connecting with your emotional self. Also, notice what you do if you receive an answer and do not honor it. Could it be that your judgmental self is telling you the answer is not good for you, is incorrect or not healthy?

Listening to yourself and others grows delicious sweet corn. You relate more effectively with others and they enjoy your company. You relate better with yourself so your emotional self and body are happy and healthy instead of resisting you and foiling your plans.

You get exactly what you want and need when you listen to the correct answer and then take the appropriate actions to give yourself what you want and need. Plant the seeds that grow corn now, nourish your garden during the summer, and enjoy a good harvest by September.

How to Get Self-Esteem? Become Self-Confident in Your Body

==================

How often do you feel vulnerable?
How do you know you have been vulnerable?

Years ago at a dance class with Ellen Foreman, a famous dancer and teacher in Philadelphia, I saw the physical truth of a statement my therapist had shared with me, that she learned from her therapist.

“Your strength is in your vulnerability.”

Let the truth of these words ring around your head and heart for a while until you get it. You need to know the truth of strength, and where its energy comes from, literally. This means you must pay attention to how it feels in your own body.

Ellen’s dance class was composed of ten women and one man. This night, at the Walnut Street Theater, where our weekly class met, the one man in the group shared that he wanted to achieve more self-confidence. We were standing up in a large circle and he was across the large room from me.

Ellen told us we could not speak or make a sound. We were to pay attention to the sensitive man who wanted more self-esteem. Ellen instructed the rest of us to be there to help him get what he wanted in anyway we could. Notice that he was already vulnerable, simply by asking for what he wanted and needed.

He started out trying to act self-confident with his body language and posture. The results were so inauthentic; it quickly became obvious that is not the way to self-esteem. Next, the rest of us tried to give him, each in our turn, with our body movements and energy, what we know to be self-confident feelings and actions. Nothing was working.

I gave him love, tenderness, and caring because I had nothing else to give. Somehow, and I cannot remember how, he was down on the floor, on his knees. He started to go around, on his knees, to each of us, pleading for what he did not have. The whole group ached with him because we all felt the same way- helpless and worthless.

Suddenly, the group became motionless as we held him in our safe place. He was naked before our eyes and we were patient as we felt his pain, which was ours. Time stood still. We were close to each other. Slowly, with awareness, he stood up and was self-confident. It seemed at the time, like a miracle.

As I learned more and more, about natural process and energy, it was not a miracle. It was the natural process of transformation. A man received what he wanted by being receptive and authentic. Being real, in your body, is the only way to become self-confident. There is no other way to reach genuine self-esteem.

Being vulnerable is the way to emotional health and wellness. There is no other way to be close to other people. You know you have been vulnerable when you get what you want and feel close to others. The more vulnerable you are, the stronger you become.

Your strength is in your vulnerability. Be vulnerable.

Holistic Mental Health Tip: Let Yourself Feel Good!

===================

How often do you let yourself do what feels good?

Once a week? Once a day? Once a year? Notice this week how often you let yourself do what feels good instead of what you should do.

In the last two weeks my body has been screaming at me. Nerve pain does get my attention. It appears I have been doing what I should do, far too often. The stress to take care of my ignored house, my taxes, my business, Google’s April 21 deadline, and myself, has its overwhelming consequences.

Like a mother often feels, my body had been left at the bottom of the list, in last place, hurting. I was trying to do a year’s worth of work in a month. Not possible. Your brain can think of everything, but your body cannot do everything. That bully brain is a pain in the butt. Literally.

Once I stopped and paid attention to what my body needed, things took a turn for the better. The delicious bath was the turning point. The lotion was helpful, the massage was great. Feeling the sun warm me up all over, while lying on a rock, by the River Drive, was so comforting. The ricotta pie for Easter was to die for.

Letting myself go back to sleep this morning and listen to the failing rain was divine. You do not have to suffer. You can relax and enjoy life. You can do what feels good more often. Try listening to your body and hear what your body is saying.

Do not let guilt and judgment ruin your moments of being alive. Say goodbye to the energy of guilt and judgment. Listen to your body energy and grow wiser and stronger.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

FEELING GOOD AID: Listening to your body is not always easy. Giving up that nasty guilt and judgmental energy isn’t either. Here is a perfect package, to solve both problems. Two audio teleseminars, “Find Peace Beyond Guilt and Judgment” and “Hear Your Body Talking” both for the price of one. Personal Growth Tip: Write Your Way to Better Mental Health

The Vibrant Moment – Remember: Write to Know More.

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” Nikola Tesla

I love Tesla. Maybe it is because he was never a good businessman and suffered greatly from his genus! I learned to feel sorry for people, just like everyone else, and his story of being so alone, and so poor, in NYC, with only pigeons as friends, breaks my heart.

Compare Nikola Tesla with Thomas Edison who was a great businessman. Tesla was by and far the greatest genius; Edison was by and far the greatest businessman. Edison lived in his Florida mansion on the waterfront, side by side, with Henry Ford. Ah, another businessman, and they both had wives.

What do we learn from these successful business men? It pays to be connected to people. Partnering with others is the way to profit from your ideas. But even more important than profits is your mental health. You must be connected to other people in some real, honest way in order to be mentally healthy.

So? From this moment on, I am not going to feel sorry for creative geniuses, ever again. Nope! Done, will drop that one like a hot potato!

Notice, how I shifted my mental health position, in the brief course of writing this newsletter to you? I did not even know I felt sorry for Tesla until I wrote the first paragraph. This is the reason writing is such a powerful transformational tool. Writing, without thinking, increases awareness.

From now on, I will love creative geniuses, learn from them, and stop feeling sorry for them. Instead, I will stop judging, and yes, I also noticed from writing this newsletter, that I have been judging men like Edison and Ford who were excellent businessmen.

It appears I had a false belief Edison “took advantage” of other people by making so much money, while poor Tesla suffered through life being misunderstood by all. Did I unconsciously think Edison was a bully and Tesla was a Martyr? It appears so.

Tesla could have learned how to get along with others! Yes, he could have learned to form healthy relationships with people who had good business minds. He could have been more open and loving toward possible partners of either sex. He could have enjoyed many true friends, instead of just Mark Twain.

If you do not feel connected to others, learn how to relate equally to children and adults. Get the relationships skills education needed to empower yourself so you can relax and be yourself with others. Good mental health is worth your time, money, and effort.

Start writing, without thinking, for increased awareness of what is hiding in your unconscious. It is so much fun to bring the truth up to your conscious mind.

WRITING HELP: It is not about being a good writer, it is about slaying the negative voices in your head. Listen to my dear friend Emily Hanlon teach you how to “De-fang Your Inner Critic to Find Your Voice.” She made enough money on a best seller to send her children to college and buy property in Maine. Listen to what Emily says, as I back up her knowledge, with mine. One hour live Teleseminar, $29.97.

Self-Confidence Advice: Use Common Sense the Holistic Psychology Way

The Vibrant Moment – Remember: Use Common Sense.
Tools from the Center for New Psychology
Publisher: Doris Jeanette, Holistic Psychology Mentor, Coach

===================

What is common sense?

Common sense is the ability to come up with a sound decision based on a realistic perception of a situation or facts.

You have plenty of innate common sense and can use your common sense to make your life effective, which is the opposite of dysfunctional. To use your common sense you must not listen to what others tell you you should do and should not do.

When you are in touch with your common sense you make good, sound decisions. You know when someone or something does not feel good, right, or correct. Even if you are taking an effective home study course or following the instructions given by a knowledgeable holistic psychologist you must use your own common sense.

For example, I often recommend Color and Sound Therapy to help you move through emotional and physical issues. However, you can over do it! You can use too much color or sound, giving you negative results. This would only occur if you are listening to the should and should nots in your head. Your common sense would tell you enough is enough!

Perhaps you misunderstood the instructions, maybe you are more sensitive to color and sound than others, or maybe the instructor didn’t think of everything. It could also be that your ego is pushing you to do more, and more, and more! Your bully ego is often the problem.

When your sneaky ego dominates you, you do not have access to your common sense. Your common sense makes sure you get positive results no matter what you do and how you do it. You can learn from any experience, and feel empowered, no matter what happens.

The difference between using your common sense and being controlled by should and should nots is the difference between holistic health and mental illness. When you listen to the should and should nots in your head that you learned from others, you are headed toward depression, anxiety, and NO vibrant moments.

Depressed energy can move. Anxious energy can slow down and you can get in touch with your authentic self’s energy. When you fall into your authentic self and allow your energy to relax and be natural, you give up depression and anxiety. This is an awesome physical experience and creates a vibrant moment or two.

Use your common sense for better holistic health and lots more fun.
