What energy are you paying attention to right this minute?
What energy do you usually pay attention to?

At any moment in time you can choose to complain, criticize and
condemn yourself and others.   When you choose to pay attention
to what is wrong and find fault with reality, you get certain
recognizable, energetic results.

As one of my favorite historical Philadelphia figures, Ben
Franklin said, ““Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain
and most fools do!”

Yes, people who make the choice to find fault with themselves
and others do not end up living a creative and healthy life
like good ole Ben Franklin did.

So, the next time you choose to complain, notice what happens
to your human energy.  Pay special attention to your body, your
stomach and your nervous system.

You will find that the consequences of finding fault with
reality do not create holistic health.  The results of paying
attention to what is “wrong” and “bad” in your judgmental mind
are sure to make you miserable and sick.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to stop finding fault with
yourself and move toward becoming more creative, free and
grateful.

When you choose to pay attention to energy that is moving
freely you move forward.  As a matter of fact, this is my
definition of creative energy. Energy that freely moves forward
on its own is creative. This is the energy flow I like to get
into and live in.

Therefore, if you want to move forward, you need to learn how
to get in your own unique creative energy flow.

One of the many ways you can get into your forward moving flow
of energy is to choose to pay attention to your successes.
When you pay attention to your strengths and good fortune, you
immediately shift into moving forward.  This is the reason
wise people often tell you to be grateful.

Try being grateful on Thanksgiving Day.

I received an email from a client who put “tears” in the
subject line.  Eagerly, I opened the message to find that he
was pleased because he had felt sadness while listening to
music. He ended the email by saying, “We are making progress.”

He was happy because he was moving toward his personal growth
goal of becoming emotionally and physically healthy.

Tears are one of the fastest ways to become physically
healthier.  If you are not emotionally healthy you cannot be
physically healthy.

Emotional health is measured by the degree to which you are
emotionally expressive.  Conversely, any time you inhibit your
authentic emotions you make your mind-body weaker.

This emotional health advice is in sharp contrast to what most
people tell you. Many psychologists, researchers and spiritual
teachers tell you to control your emotions. They teach you to
“manage” your emotions and “free” yourself from your emotions.
Some holistic health physicians even tell you to inhibit your
so called “negative” and “toxic” emotions.

However, when you deny, repress or exaggerate any authentic
emotion you block the healthy, vital energy you need to be
physically strong. The more vital energy you have in your
body, the more holistic health you can count on.

As a matter of fact, 5000 years ago when the Indians first
documented the human energy field, they called the emotional
body, the vital body.

This is because your emotional body is full of vital energy
when it is free and open. Therefore, any inhibition of your
vital, emotional energy begins to interfere with the natural
functioning of your mind-body, organs and cells.

When your cells do not receive the vital energy they need,
they begin to fall apart.  Over time, the cell’s membrane,
which is supposed to protect you and keep you healthy, begins
to suffer damage and destruction.  The consequence is physical
deterioration of your cells and subsequent disease.

Therefore, my emotional health advice is to welcome your
tears and enjoy your emotions.  You can find lots of healthy
ways to express all of your emotions. None of them are
negative or toxic.

As a matter of fact, you need all of your emotions to make
you whole, sane, loving and strong.

To become healthier you need to add more healthy energy to
your body and cells.

Holistic health and holistic psychology professionals are
different from traditional health and traditional psychology

What self-improvement crop did you plant in the spring?

Fall is the time to gather in your personal growth harvest
for the year.  If you planted some self-improvement seeds in
the spring they are fully grown by now and ready for
harvesting.

For example, your intention to make more money or learn a
new relationship skill could be ready to pick off the vine
and store in your body and heart.  The results?  Some
wonderful winter enjoyment and personal growth pleasure.

Feeling good about yourself because you have worked hard to
